When in Callander, the delightful, white-washed Myrtle Inn must be visited. This traditional roadside inn is an ideal place for a quiet drink or a superbly cooked meal as you explore an area that is stunningly beautiful.
The Myrtle, which is owned by Callander's former citizen of the year, Dan McKirgan, offers a wide range of traditional home cooking and vegetarian meals.
There are two menus - lunch and evening - with food being served in a restaurant area as well as in the bar. The favourite dishes here are roast lamb, using local lamb,
and Wallace Chicken - chicken stuffed with haggis and served with Wallace Liqueur.
The Myrtle Inn is listed in several good food guides.
Seasonal live entertainment is on offer at weekends from June to October.
The Myrtle Inn is pleased to welcome coach parties although advanced booking is essential.
